How to fight against hyperactivity with essential oils?

Hyperactivity gets its name from the scientific term: ADHD. This Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is rarer in adults than in children. The 3 main symptoms remain nevertheless mainly the same: an attention disorder characterized by a person who is easily distracted, an impulsive behavior characterized by unusual reactions, a motor hyperactivity characterized by a progressive and sudden activity of a member. To cope with this, certain essential oils with calming properties can modulate these symptoms.

Why these essential oils?

The reference of calming oils: Roman Chamomile

The Roman Chamomile essential oil is THE benchmark for calming and antispasmodic essential oils. The monoterpene esters that make up the majority of this essential oil are very active. They will calm stress and promote sleep. These molecules will have a positive effect on the concentration which will increase the work capacity.

Moreover, the isobutyl angelate present in majority is the most spasmolytic ester. It will make it possible to calm the motor hyperactivity by decreasing the spasms, the reflexes which are not voluntary and by supporting the immobility. It is thus essential in this synergy against hyperactivity.

The champion of anti-stress oils: Petit Grain Bigarade

The Essential Oil of Petit Grain Bigarade is generally used to deal with stress and small everyday problems. It contains monoterpene esters and alcohols which are the most calming and relaxing molecules. The combination of these two molecules makes it very powerful.

The linalool will stimulate the central nervous system via the receptors of the acetylcholine (neurotransmitter which makes it possible to transmit information of a neuron to another) what causes a reaction of awakening and concentration and thus will make it possible to calm the person. It will reinforce the action of the monoterpene esters of the essential oil of Roman Chamomile.

The Green Mandarin to moderate the stimulation of the nervous system

The Green Mandarin essential oil is highly regarded for its pleasant scent and calming, soothing properties. It acts on the sympathetic nervous system, which corresponds to putting the body on alert and preparing for physical (muscles) and intellectual activity. It has a moderating role, i.e. it will modulate the response of the body to the stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system, by limiting it if necessary. It will therefore help to calm the symptoms of hyperactivity.

Moreover, it is slightly hypnotic and prepares for sleep. Its calming action remains rather moderate but sufficient and adapted for a child.

Why this vegetable oil?

Hazelnut vegetable oil

The Hazelnut Vegetable Oil is a very mild oil, ideal for diluting essential oils when used in children. Its penetrating texture allows the essential oils to pass easily through the body, for a quick and safe action. It will not leave a greasy film on the surface of the skin. Moreover, its composition rich in fatty acids makes it a very softening and nourishing oil: a nice little extra, when using a synergy!
