Sunburns are unfortunately a regular occurrence in the summer. These burns are caused by too much exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays. They trigger an inflammatory response in the skin that manifests itself as redness and pain. Sunburns, in the long term, can be dangerous to health and develop skin cancers. Why these essential oils?

The Rose Geranium regenerates the tissues

The rose geranium essential oil is widely used for skin problems. The presence in large quantities of monoterpene alcohols gives it the skin tonic and astringent property. It will help the body to better repair the skin when it gets rid of the cells damaged by the sun, that is, when it peels. It will stimulate the synthesis of the cells which constitute 90% of the epidermis, inhibit the inflammation and maintain the aseptic environment which will support the cicatricial process. It will therefore tone, firm and regenerate the skin damaged by the sun.

In addition, the monoterpene alcohols and esters will reinforce the anaesthetic action of the essential oil of Lavender Aspic and the healing property of the synergy.

Lavender Aspic: the reference against burns

The Lavender Aspic essential oil is known for its effectiveness in cases of sunburn. These burns cause more or less intense skin pain.

The linalool present in majority (25 to 50%), has a local anesthetic property. It stimulates the morphine receptors that control pain and releases small analgesic proteins, the enkephalins. The result is an inhibition of the transmission of the pain message to the brain. In addition, the linalool-camphor couple makes Lavender Aspic essential oil a powerful healing agent.

Fine Lavender fights against pain

Sunburns are usually accompanied by sharp pain at the slightest friction (clothing, bed ...). The linalool present here between 25 and 50% in Fine Lavender essential oil is a good local anesthetic. It acts through the nociceptive receptors, located on the surface of the skin, which transmit the pain message to the brain via nociceptive fibers. The linalol will inhibit the transmission of this message between these receptors and the brain what suppresses the sensation of pain.

Moreover, the linalol will reinforce the healing and cutaneous regenerating action of the other molecules of the essential oil of Geranium Rosat.

Why these vegetable oils?

The vegetable oil of Apricot Kernel

The sun often causes premature aging of the skin. It is therefore necessary to come and counteract this effect of the sun. This is where Apricot Kernel vegetable oil comes in: its fatty acids will provide a firming action on the skin, to revitalize and tone it. By reinforcing the skin's protective hydrolipidic film, Apricot Kernel helps Calendula in its skin-nourishing role, and restores all its elasticity to the skin. Very penetrating, it will allow the essential oils to pass easily the cutaneous barrier to repair the dermis in-depth.

Calendula oily macerate

The Calendula Oily Macerate is highly regarded for its anti-inflammatory power, essential for relieving a sunburn. It is thanks to a compound naturally present in this oil, faradiol, that Calendula will relieve skin inflammation. In addition to the inflammation, a sunburn is always accompanied by a drying of the skin. The fatty acids present in Calendula oil will allow this synergy to nourish and heal the skin. The sunburn will be a bad memory!
