Low back pain is the medical term for pain in the lower back, in the area of the lumbar vertebrae. Lumbago is a form of acute low back pain with very intense pain that prevents any movement. With an effective massage with essential oils and a little relaxation, your lower back pain will subside and you will be able to resume your activities in full form.

Methyl salicylate, a terpene ester, makes up 95-99% of Scented Wintergreen essential oil; like citronellal, it is negativizing. This negativizing nature of the esters gives them potent anti-inflammatory properties. Methyl salicylate is specialized in muscular and articular pains; its action comes from an inhibition of pro-inflammatory enzymes.
It is a very good analgesic percutaneous, thanks to the heating which it causes on the skin, which will come to calm with effectiveness the pains of the back. The methyl salicylate (ester) is associated with citronellal (aldehyde) of lemon Eucalyptus to increase tenfold their ability to treat muscle pain and help those suffering from acute or chronic back pain.
Calming pain is the most sought-after property in the case of low back pain. The Scots Pine essential oil has very different components from the other essential oils in this synergy and adds to the pool of analgesic (pain-relieving) and analgesic (pain-inhibiting) molecules in this essential oil blend. It is highly recommended to relieve rheumatism, lumbago and sciatica.
It is citronellal, a monoterpene aldehyde, that provides Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil with the majority of its properties for treating low back pain. Citronellal is a powerful anti-rheumatic (fights joint pain), it is also anti-inflammatory. These two properties combined create a powerful painkiller that will effectively relieve painful sensations in the lower back region.
Citronellal is negativizing, it has soothing properties by action on certain neuromediators (molecules allowing the transfer of nervous information) which will relax the affected person and thus relax his muscles and tendons. The rest of the joints (intervertebral discs) is thus ensured so that the repair is fast.
It is notably calming, anxiolytic and sedative properties that the Lavandin Super essential oil brings to this synergy. Indeed, the monoterpene alcohols (linalool, terpinen-4-ol) as well as linalyl acetate, a monoterpene ester, are active on the nervous system and decrease excitability. They will help the citronellal of the Lemon Eucalyptus to relax the affected person in order to let his joint recover from this trauma.
The linalool and camphor of this essential oil of Lavandin Super are also analgesic and spasmolytic musculotropic (promote the relaxation of muscles). Relaxing the muscles of the back allows to relax the corresponding tendons and thus to put at rest the surrounding joints.
The Roman Chamomile essential oil owes its properties to the pool of monoterpene esters that make it up.
The anti-inflammatory action of the esters is widely recognized and in particular that of the isobutyl angelate (monoterpene ester majority in this essential oil). It is the most spasmolytic ester; it supports the relaxation of the muscles and will thus decrease the painful tension in the lumbar muscular fibres. By disturbing the ionic exchanges at the junctions between the neurons at the level of the nervous system, the esters take charge of the signals "pains" and thus get a powerful analgesic effect with the essential oil of Roman Chamomile.
Calming and relaxing, this essential oil will promote relaxation and rest, essential to relieve back pain in pregnant women.
An essential oil with multiple properties, Noble Laurel essential oil has its place in this synergy. Even present in small quantities in Noble Laurel essential oil, eugenol is an excellent analgesic. This essential oil recommended for rheumatism or arthritis will largely reduce back pain.
The analgesic action of the eugenol will come to associate with that of the esters of the essential oil of Roman Chamomile to have together an effect "anti-pain" even more effective.
To accentuate and reinforce the beneficial effects of the essential oils in this synergy, the St. John's wort oily macerate is used thanks to its largely complementary properties. Its anti-inflammatory action will act at the heart of the painful area, to reduce the inflammation of the lumbar region and the pain at the same time. St John's Wort thus reinforces the anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory effects of Lemon Eucalyptus and Sweet Wintergreen essential oils, but also the analgesic properties of Scots Pine and Lavandin Super essential oils.
The frequency of back pain in pregnant women is high, so essential oils should be diluted to avoid overdosing or getting used to their action. The Arnica Oily Macerate fulfills this role well in this synergy, providing as a bonus its own active molecules to complement those of the essential oils. Thus, the lactones that compose it reinforce the anti-inflammatory action of Lemon Eucalyptus, while its analgesic action complements that of Noble Laurel.
